Experience and Background
Curtiss has been passionate about financial planning since he started with Net Worth Advisory Group in 2009. He chose to work with a fee only firm from the beginning of his professional career, because he is a firm believer that clients need objective financial advice that is not tainted by a hidden agenda to sell products. His primary objectives are to help clients reach their financial goals and achieve peace of mind regarding their retirement, investments, and overall finances. He seeks to build long term relationships with clients as he helps them cultivate and preserve wealth.
Curtiss is adamant that everyone should have a comprehensive financial plan, regardless of their circumstances. He develops comprehensive financial plans to advise clients on topics such as: retirement planning, Social Security, pensions, insurance, investments, and estate, tax, and education planning. After developing a financial plan, he meets with clients twice a year to update and monitor their plans, making adjustments as needed.
Curtiss’ prior experience was in sales management where he developed valuable communication skills and other tools that help him develop and sustain positive client relationships. Prior to becoming an advisor, he worked for two years as a client service manager and advisor support manager. He used this experience to gain knowledge about financial planning, learn how to service clients well, and to get training about the skills and processes required to become a successful advisor. This experience also solidified his desire to become a fee-only Certified Financial Planner for his professional career.
Curtiss and his wife Ginger have four children. He enjoys spending time with his family, watching and playing sports, mountain biking, boating, snowboarding, and many other outdoor activities.
